Project Owner

  • Mike Day (Executive Sponsor, ICT)

Project Credits

  • Sonya Corcoran (ICT, TechLab)
  • Lydia Gu (ICT, TechLab)

Start Date

17 Oct 2017

Status

Completed 18 Oct 2017

Problem Statement

Review Blockcerts technology, to allow for further investigation of the application of blockchain in Higher Education.

Final Brief

A proof of content that uses open-source Blockcerts to create and view blockchain-based certificates.

Challenges & Learnings

  • C1. A one day turn around to investigate the reliability of an open-source projects without detail on how the technology will be applied in the University context.
  • L1. Without clearly defined problem statements, we treat requests of this nature as spikes. A spike investigates unknown technology problems well enough so you can estimate them, rather than producing a shippable product.

Languages / Framework

HTML, JavaScript, Python, JSON, Docker
