Students raised a request through IdeaScale that when approaching the University from offsite they had no way to know where an available computer might be. During busy times this was particularly important. This was our most requested project through two years of ideation using IdeaScale.
In response, the TechLab developed a robust mobile first reporting tool, with embedded personalisation elements that was road tested across five iterations with students from multiple Faculties. Once the project was designed to the student’s specifications, it was integrated with the University of Sydney App. This page in the App consistently receives thousands of page views per month.

L1. Careful scheduling of TechLab staff can mitigate risks relating to overcommitment.
L2. Students are a great source of advice, and should be engaged as often as possible around ideas for better products, and not just the technology savvy ones.
